CVOR RN Travel Opportunity - California

Job Title

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

Location

  • Glendale, California

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Unit & Work Environment

  • Operating Room (OR), 1 suite available 24/7
  • Average 1-4 cases per week; workload fluctuates with periods of no cases followed by sudden influx
  • Union environment with generally friendly permanent staff
  • Charge nurse and team leads present
  • OR techs available
  • No floating typically, but possible to float to GI lab if experienced in GI

Shift & Hours

  • 8-hour shifts: 7 AM - 3 PM or 3 PM - 11 PM
  • 10-hour days, 40 hours per week
  • Weekend call required; 24-hour call optional (typically 7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Weekday call required from 11 PM - 7 AM; call requirements vary based on needs
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
  • Holidays worked as needed

Patient Care & Cases

  • Common cases: CABGs, AVRs, Median Sternotomy, Repair AAA
  • DaVinci Robot not used for chest cases
  • Scrubbing preferred for RNs

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Active California RN license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience
  • Travel experience preferred but not mandatory

Technology & Systems

  • EMR: Cerner
  • Telemetry system: GE

Additional Information

  • Floor-specific orientation averages 2 shifts
  • No ventilator management required
  • Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
  • IV team not available onsite
  • Flexibility with schedule required
  • First to float when needed
  • Weekend and weekday call requirements are variable and depend on traveler preference and unit needs
