Job Opportunity: PCU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Snellville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Patient Population
- Adults to Geriatrics
- Unit accepts most diagnoses including GI Bleed, DKA, Stroke, TIA, Hypertension, NSTEMI, COPD, CHF, etc.
Unit Details
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
- Unit size: 24 beds
- Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Floating: Yes, within facility or sister campus as needed and within scope of practice
- Call: None required
- Weekend schedule: Every other weekend
- Holiday work: Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Additional Information
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
- Floating may include sister campus assignments within scope of practice
- No call responsibilities
- Must review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
This position is ideal for experienced PCU RNs seeking a travel contract with night shifts in a progressive care setting caring for adult to geriatric patients with diverse medical diagnoses.
