Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Massena, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (10:00 AM - 8:00 PM)

Job Description

• Accepting first-time travelers
• Required experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Community hospital experience required
• Call schedule: Every 3rd day after 6 PM and every 3rd weekend
• Patient population: Pediatric to adult patients
• Procedures: Basic ultrasound including OB, abdominal, DVT, carotids, breast, thoracentesis, and paracentesis (common invasive procedures)
• Work setting experience required: Outpatient
• Preferred skills: Biopsies
• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology ultrasound procedures

Required Qualifications

• Ultrasound Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Valid New York State license for Ultrasound Tech (RDMS/ARDMS credentials required)
• ARDMS certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Experience working in an outpatient setting

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
• Education verification for degree related to specialty
• State license verification within 30 days of start
• Online technical certification verification within 30 days of start
• Harassment prevention training certificate (annual requirement)
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as required by profession
• Color blindness testing (one-time)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required for all candidates)
• Facility-specific policy reviews (patient confidentiality, sexual harassment prevention, patient experience training) prior to start
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask types required; PAPR allowed if fit test failed)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years (TD not accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire if applicable
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive, completed series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening required within 30 days of start (specific panels depending on booking date)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (documentation deadline applies)
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)

Additional Requirements

• 7-year work history verification (Aya’s attestation letter accepted as last resort)
• Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
• Two professional references required (per agency baseline)

Travel Experience

• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted

Location and Commute

• Must be willing to work >50 miles from home (local candidates not accepted)
