Registered Nurse (Acute Care Med Surg) - Georgia, Americus

Job Details

  • Specialty: Acute Care 1 (Med Surg)
  • Location: Americus, Georgia
  • Contract Length: 17 weeks
  • Shift: Days (7a-7p)
  • Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Unit: Acute Care, 36 beds
  • Patient Types: CHF, COPD, ESRD, Pneumonia, Renal Failure, Sickle Cell Crisis, Orthopedic surgery, Bariatric Surgery, AMS, Sepsis
  • EMR System: Meditech
  • Charge Nurse: Yes
  • Nurse Aides: Yes
  • Floating: Occasionally
  • Orientation: Floor-specific, 3 shifts
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holidays: Required
  • Uniform: White tops, hunter green pants
  • Telemetry: Yes
  • Hospitalist: In-house 24/7
  • Respiratory Therapist: Available 24/7
  • IV Team: No (may consult PICC team if needed)
  • Nurse's Read Strips: No
  • Drips and Vents: Not applicable

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in hospital Med Surg units
  • BLS (AHA) certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Must comply with a strict 75-mile radius rule from the address on the traveler's driver’s license to the facility

  • Nurse to patient ratios: RN/LPN 6:1, CNA 12:1
