Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Interventional Radiology)

Location

  • Phoenix, Arizona

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Specialty

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology or ICU with IR experience
  • Active Arizona RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS certification preferred if possible
  • Level I Trauma experience required

Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in Radiology Pre and Post Procedural areas, including pre-op and PACU
  • Care for patients post conscious sedation and general anesthesia
  • Manage outpatient and inpatient populations, including critical care and telemetry patients
  • No neuro endovascular area assignments; focus on body IR cases only
  • Charge nurse responsibilities included
  • No on-call duties required

Work Schedule

  • 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
  • Shift times: either 07:00–17:30 or 07:30–18:00, based on need
  • Occasional Saturdays (1-2 per month) and possible holiday coverage
  • 36 hours per week with one weekday off
  • Floor-specific orientation: 2 shifts

Clinical Environment & Equipment

  • 5 Angio rooms, 2 CT scanners, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine
  • Cases include chemoembolization, Y-90, GJ tubes, IVC filters, vascular access, angiograms, CT biopsies, ablations, ultrasound biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, neuro endovascular stroke treatment (not assigned to RN)
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner
  • Support from IR techs, CT, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound techs
  • Ventilator and telemetry monitoring available
  • In-house hospitalist or intensivist coverage
  • 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support
  • IV access teams available for PICC lines and difficult starts
  • Scrubs provided

  • No call responsibilities
  • Pre-screening and interview process conducted by recruiter and manager
  • Emphasis on critical care and telemetry nursing skills
