Job Description

• Seeking experienced Cath Lab RN nurses for a travel contract.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, plus call.
• Call requirement: RN call every other weekend from Friday 3:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM.
• Average call days including weekends: 12 (can range up to 18 depending on staffing).
• Call response time: 30 minutes.
• 8-hour day shifts, generally starting at 7:00 AM.
• No floating required.
• Floor-specific orientation depends on skill level (typically 1 or 2 shifts).
• Hospital provides scrubs.
• EMR system: Cerner.
• Charge nurse role available.
• Cath Lab has 2 suites/labs with an average of 8 cases per day.
• Common cases include all cardiac invasive procedures except structural heart, plus peripheral procedures such as carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, and peripheral diagnostics and interventions.
• No “dirty” procedures (e.g., PEGs, G-tubes) involved.
• Ventilator use present.
• IV team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy available 24/7.
• Cardiologist hours/on call not specified.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab nursing experience.
• Active California RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Two supervisory references required at submission: one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years.
• Must complete a Dys exam through Relias within 24-48 hours prior to contract signing (pass/fail with two attempts allowed).
• Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with a specific large health system within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable.

Additional Information

• Will consider candidates who do not scrub.
• Weekend and holiday call assignments are rotating.
• No telemetry responsibilities.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
