Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist
Location
- Johnson City, New York
Job Summary
Perform routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under physician direction in Angio Interventional Radiology and Neuro Interventional Radiology services. Procedures include extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for IR and neurointerventional procedures such as discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.
- Assist clinically in sterile and non-sterile neurointerventional procedures including tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.
- Operate advanced imaging equipment following established guidelines and protocols.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety and proper safety standards.
- Instruct students and residents; perform preceptor duties as needed.
- Perform quality assurance checks on equipment.
- Maintain supply inventory for IR and neuro IR procedures.
- Review coding procedures for accurate billing of neuro IR and IR procedures.
- Participate in ongoing education to learn new techniques and technology.
- Maintain patient and hospital information confidentiality.
- Comply with hospital policies on incident reporting.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Schedule
- 4x10 hour shifts, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- On call every other weekend
- 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in New York
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology
- ARRT (R) certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience in supervisory roles
