Critical Care RN (Night Shift) - Cleveland, Ohio
Job Details
- Shift: Night, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Floating Requirement: Must float to all inpatient areas including ICU, Stepdown, and Med/Surg
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Health and Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine series or approved medical/religious exemption (preferred, not required)
- Positive MMR titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Positive Varicella titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series, or signed declination form (agency form accepted)
- Annual 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest X-ray and current TB questionnaire required
- Fit Test for N95 respirators completed within 1 year prior to start (specific approved models required)
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (October–March) or completion of specific masking and declination forms
Background and Verification Requirements
- Completed I-9 attestation verifying eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Ohio fingerprint background checks:
- If resident ≥5 years: Ohio BCI&I and FCRA-compliant national criminal background check
- If resident <5 years: Ohio BCI&I and FBI fingerprint check (FCRA-compliant)
- Attestation allowed if fingerprints pending, with proof of completion and follow-up required
- Criminal background check within 6 months including social security trace, county searches (7 years), national criminal sweep, and sex offender registry
- OIG exclusion check within 6 months prior to start
- SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC screening within 6 months prior to start
- Employment verification for last 5 years through third-party verification (excluding agency employment)
- Education verification through third-party; international education requires equivalency documentation
- Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted)
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (clinical skills specific)
- Competency exam with minimum 80% score within 1 year prior to start
- Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) completed within 1 year prior to start with minimum 80% score
- Badge photo (headshot, shoulders up, plain background, JPEG format)

- Employment history form confirming previous employment at the hospital system (if applicable)
- Non-expired photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
This position requires a highly qualified Critical Care RN able to work night shifts with floating responsibilities across multiple inpatient units. Compliance with extensive health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory prior to onboarding.
