Job Details

• Shift Options:

  • Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
  • Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
• Call required
• Ability to float to other facilities within the health system
• Strong orthopedic background required
• Experience circulating and scrubbing in the OR

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• CNOR certification

Certifications Required (per unit)

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only, no placeholders
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - if applicable
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - if applicable
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - if applicable
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) - if applicable
• Chemotherapy certification - if applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - if applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification - if applicable
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) - for psych positions only

Additional Requirements

• COVID-19 preparedness review and attestation prior to start
• Completion of facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements and emergency contact information
• Completion of annual Cyber Security Awareness Training and quiz (passing score 80%+)
• Completion of HIPAA Healthcare Provider Module and quiz (passing score 80%+)
• Facility-specific photo for badge submission by Monday prior to start (color photo, neutral background)
• Review and initial parking and uniform policies prior to start
• Uniforms: Scrubs provided for certain units; others must follow facility scrub color guidelines (UCSF branded scrubs optional)
• Wage Benefit Parity form required pre-start for all clinical candidates

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Candidates must be prepared for call responsibilities and floating to other units.
• COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but not required as of current guidelines.
• Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Nov-Apr).
• Fit mask testing can be completed onsite as a last resort with prior appointment.
