Registered Nurse - ER (North Carolina, Greensboro)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days every 6 weeks
- Holidays: As needed
- No on-call required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Licensure
- NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (required for badge issuance)
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including aliases, national criminal, federal court, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, and education verification
- Foreign equivalency evaluation if nursing education was obtained outside the U.S. (must be submitted within 30 days after start)
- Education verification: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required; no pending education verification allowed at start
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of all employment within last 5 years through a third-party vendor
- Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months prior to start)
- Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (if applicable) within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test (N95 respirators) completed within current calendar year and updated annually
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult Tdap vaccine proof required)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines at least 28 days apart
- Hepatitis B: Titer or declination with booster series if non-reactive/low titer
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 22 – Feb 27)
- Negative TB test (Qgold/TSPOT) within 6 months of start or chest x-ray if positive history
- TB questionnaire within 30 days of start and updated annually
Testing & Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% to pass)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail, minimum 82%, max 2 attempts)
- EPIC test (online, 2 attempts allowed, 80% minimum to pass)
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required
- Acknowledgment of Pass/Fail testing for EPIC and EKG exams required
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Badge photo meeting strict guidelines (no selfies, no hats, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing)
- Completion of Health History Form including documentation of any physician-mandated work restrictions
- Review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment form
- Workday login and onboarding tasks must be completed prior to start, including multi-factor authentication setup
Scheduling & Policies
- Strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Compliance documents must be completed by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date
Additional Notes
- Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here)
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
