Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Garfield Heights, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience for a travel contract position. The role requires working night shifts with options for 4x12, 3x12, or 2x12 schedules.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required and must be carried on assignment.
• Background checks including FCRA-compliant 7-year search, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) must be current and updated annually.
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing and results must be on file prior to contract extension.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
• Fit mask test (3M N95 1860 small/regular or 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually.
• Immunization and health requirements:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers with boosters if needed.
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination.
  • Varicella vaccinations or positive titer with booster if needed.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required annually (no declinations accepted).
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start.

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start is mandatory.
• Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video content must be watched before testing.
• Baseline competency exams (medication administration and ECG interpretation) are completed during orientation.
• SafeMedicate prep materials provided for exam preparation.
• Badge photo required (headshot, shoulders up, white background).

References & Work History

• Two professional references required from employment within one year of start date (manager, ANM, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
• Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history with 2 years in acute care in a similar specialty area.

• All requirements and scheduling details are non-negotiable and must be confirmed at submission.
• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
• Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months at this facility may need to retake orientation modules and competency exams.
• Candidates must ensure legal name consistency across all documentation.
