Description

Job Opportunity: Mammographer I

Location

  • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Job Summary

  • Perform specialized breast imaging services to assist providers in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring breast conditions and diseases.
  • Work primarily in outpatient settings.
  • Support a mobile mammography unit that travels weekly to various sites across Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic mammography imaging under general supervision.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and review clinical history.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families about testing and results timelines.
  • Use specialized mammography equipment and techniques following established guidelines.
  • Conduct post-test quality reviews to ensure compliance with departmental and accreditation standards.
  • Transfer images and data to electronic health systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform equipment quality control, cleaning, and maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • May participate in teaching and mentoring students or new team members.
  • Support inventory management to maintain supply availability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Mammography Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Mammography Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Skills

  • Knowledge of mammography principles, radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, and patient positioning.
  • Foundational understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology related to mammography.
  • Ability to perform exams and basic post-processing analysis with general supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete clinical and non-clinical tasks with guidance, developing independence over time.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain composed in stressful situations with support.

Additional Information

  • The role involves travel with a mobile mammography coach to various locations weekly.
  • Hotel and food expenses are covered during travel weeks.
