Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Details
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday with variable day off
- Weekend requirement: Call only
- Call schedule: 1 weekday per week and 1 weekend rotation based on staffing volume
- Floating: May float within facility and scope of practice as needed, including to Cath and EP units with required procedures
- Sensitive unit: Candidates must review all unit/job description details carefully
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Holiday work: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it; if 2 holidays, work both; if 3 holidays, work 2 of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Non-billable orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment, 19 hours for 19-week assignment)
Required Qualifications
- Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
- Experience in Interventional Radiology Technologist role within the last year
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week start delay due to orientation scheduling
- Background check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including national and county criminal searches, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and education verification
- Education verification: Degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start, including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC
- Physical exam: Required within 12 months of start (not required for subcontractors)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if prior positive)
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters may pend past start if not eligible yet
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters may pend past start if not eligible yet
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
- Color blind testing required; alternative assessment available for blood collection tasks if needed
- Competency exams required for specialty, including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency for relevant units (3 attempts allowed, failure results in cancellation)
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months required
- Work history verification and 2 clinical references required (can be pending at start with proof in process)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- Floating assignments may include Cath and Electrophysiology (EP) units with required procedures
- Clinical fit is determined by clinical screening and facility guidelines before final approval
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
