Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours preferred (19:00 - 7:00)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (3 shifts of 12 hours preferred; 4x12 shifts may be considered)
Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW)
Patient Ratio: 1:6 or 1:7 (experience with higher ratios required)
Block Scheduling: Considered

Job Description

• Work on an Oncology MedSurg floor.
• Minimal to no Return to Office (RTO) required; must be included on submission.
• Experience with Telemetry and IV starts required.
• Oncology experience is highly preferred.
• Must be comfortable with Cerner and Soarian EMR systems.
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
• Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg nursing experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or attestation.
• Government-issued photo ID (color copy required).
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• Education verification (diploma or transcript accepted).
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Fit test completed onsite at no cost.
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted). For past positives, chest X-ray within 2 years and TB questionnaire within 30 days required.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (9/3 through 3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is provided.
• Two recent supervisor/manager references verified within 12 months.
• Completion of facility-specific HealthStream modules prior to start.
• Submission of a passport-style photo for badge within 24 hours of signing.
• Completion of facility-specific forms including IS115 and IS119 (time sensitive, must be wet signed or signed via DocuSign).

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 30 miles of the facility will not be considered; local rate applies for candidates 31-50 miles away.
• Fingerprinting requirements apply only to CNAs; not required for RNs.
• Candidates must carry photo ID during hours of service.
• Flu exemption requires detailed documentation and facility approval.
• Facility dress code must be reviewed by candidate.
• Candidates must be able to complete fingerprinting if out-of-state and willing to travel to Georgia for the appointment.
