ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

• ICU nursing role requiring critical care skills.
• Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice.
• Weekend schedule: every other weekend.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Must work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period (expectation varies by number of holidays).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, with ICU experience within the last year.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification.
• State license verification within 30 days prior to start.
• NURSYS verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start (required by agency, not client).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (or proof of prior positive with required follow-up).
• Annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 doses or positive titer with boosters as needed.
  • Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer with boosters as needed.
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination.
  • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) highly recommended but not mandatory.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31).
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (instant drug screen acceptable).

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
• Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling.
• Manager review of candidate profile and confirmation occurs within 48 hours of submission.
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Two clinical references required by the agency (not required by client).
• Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.
• Candidates must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start.
