ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
- ICU nursing role requiring critical care skills.
- Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice.
- Weekend schedule: every other weekend.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Must work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period (expectation varies by number of holidays).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, with ICU experience within the last year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification.
- State license verification within 30 days prior to start.
- NURSYS verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start (required by agency, not client).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (or proof of prior positive with required follow-up).
- Annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 doses or positive titer with boosters as needed.
- Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer with boosters as needed.
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination.
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) highly recommended but not mandatory.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (instant drug screen acceptable).
Orientation & Onboarding
- Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
- Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling.
- Manager review of candidate profile and confirmation occurs within 48 hours of submission.
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
- Two clinical references required by the agency (not required by client).
- Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start.
This position offers a structured night shift ICU travel nursing opportunity with clear clinical and compliance expectations, suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of ICU experience and EPIC proficiency.
