IR Technologist (Interventional Radiology) - Stockton, California

Job Details

  • Specialty: IR Tech (Interventional Radiology Technologist)
  • Location: Stockton, California
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Days
  • Hours: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
  • Unit: Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology
  • Labs/Suites: 4 rooms
  • Average Cases per Day: 15-20
  • Call Requirement:
    • Call required up to two weekends per month
    • Call schedule from 5pm Friday to 7am Monday
    • One weekday call per week
    • Response time: 30 minutes
  • Orientation: 1-2 days unit-specific orientation
  • Floating: Not required

Job Description

  • Work primarily in IR and Cath Lab performing interventional radiology procedures.
  • Must be comfortable working with critically ill patients, including STEMI cases (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction).
  • Procedures include use of laser, rotablator, nitric oxide, IVUS, Impella, IABP, FFR, angiojet.
  • Experience with coronary and peripheral circulation procedures, balloon pumps, and Impella devices is required.
  • Fluoroscopy use is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Merge Hemo system preferred; experience with Siemens/Phillips cath lab equipment is a plus but not required.
  • 24/7 cardiologist and respiratory therapist support available.
  • Pharmacy available 24/7.
  • Scrubs provided (teal blue).

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT certification required.
  • California CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) license required if ARRT certified.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Fluoroscopy certification required.
  • Experience with coronary, balloon pumps, and Impella devices mandatory.
  • Completion of all required training modules prior to arrival is mandatory; failure to complete will delay start.

Additional Information

  • Charge nurse coverage during day shifts; circulator nurse acts as charge nurse after hours.
  • Respiratory therapists present during ventilated cases.
  • Candidates should be comfortable with high-acuity patients and a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience with Merge software is a bonus.

This position is ideal for IR Technologists with strong interventional cardiology experience seeking a 13-week contract with call responsibilities and a focus on critical care procedures.
