Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract) - Winfield, Kansas
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Start Date: August start only (may consider July 27)
Job Description
- Work in a critical access hospital setting
- Provide care primarily after the second shift
- Assist with sterile speculum exams, NST, reflex checks, sterile vaginal exams, and external fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Manage IVs, medication administration, and labor & delivery including:
- High-risk and vaginal deliveries
- Forceps/vacuum-assisted deliveries
- C-sections
- Neonatal and newborn care
- Pain management and postpartum care
- Surgical cases such as cervical cerclage
- EMR system preference: Centricity
- Block scheduling allowed on a case-by-case basis
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Ability to assist with sterile speculum exams
- Ability to perform Non-Stress Tests (NST)
