IR Technologist (Interventional Radiology) – Phoenix, Arizona
Job Details
- Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR Tech)
- Location: Phoenix, Arizona
- Contract Length: 13 weeks minimum
- Shift: Day shifts, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Call Requirement: None
- Floating: None outside of Radiology
- Unit: Interventional Radiology
- Rooms: 2 general IR suites, 1 Spine IR room, 2 Neuro endovascular suites
- Cases per Day: 5-10
- Weekends: Possible some Saturdays
Facility & Work Environment
- Teaching hospital with nursing students
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Level 1 Trauma and teaching experience required
- Facility does not allow facial piercings or unnatural hair colors
- Parking assigned with shuttle service; night shift parking in garage
- Use of Philips Allera and Medrad injector equipment
- EMR system: Cerner and DR (PACS)
- Common procedures: GI/GJ tubes, ports, angiograms, lumbar punctures, myelograms, nephrostomy tubes, stents, IVC filters, blood patches
- Neuro endovascular procedures (embolizations, stents, stroke treatment) experience preferred but not required
- Sedation cases involve 2 RNs and RT scrubbing with MD
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Previous travel experience required for Emergency Department (ED) and Neuro ICU
- Teaching experience required
- BLS Certification
- Certified Radiologic Technologist – ARRT (R)
- Experience with Cerner EMR system
Additional Notes
- Facility will not consider contracts shorter than 13 weeks
- All candidate profiles must include unit size, hospital size, trauma level, and Cerner EMR experience
- Onboarding documents must be completed by 1 PM CST Wednesday before start date; incomplete files will delay start
- Cath Lab does not consider tech/RN teams
- Candidates may be expected to work with nursing students in this teaching environment
