MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Shift: Evenings, Monday - Friday, 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 21 weeks
Work Schedule & On-Call
- Evening shifts: 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- On-call requirement:
- Monday to Friday: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Weekends: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (randomly assigned, scheduling flexibility provided)
- From 9/8/26 to 10/23/26, weekend coverage required at alternate location:
- Friday: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Monday: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Includes on-call duties
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Certification:
- ARRT MRI (MR) OR
- ARMRIT (American Registry of MRI Technologists)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Licensure & Certifications
- Must have current and verifiable ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification
- BLS (AHA) required and must be kept current
- Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required depending on unit assignment (check unit-specific requirements)
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification required for Radiologic Technologist program completion
- Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID Form mandatory before start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire and monitored monthly
- Drug screening required per clinical standards (not annually unless specified)
- Physical exam recommended to meet agency standards (not facility-mandated)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- TB testing: IGRA blood test within 12 months or two-step skin test as per facility protocol
- Annual TB Questionnaire required
- MMR: 2 doses or positive titers required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
- Varicella: 2 doses or positive titer required; exemptions accepted with approval
- Hepatitis B: Completed vaccination series with positive titer or signed facility-specific declination form
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (09/22 – 04/13)
- Other vaccines (e.g., Meningococcal) required if working in specific departments
Testing & Competency Exams
- Facility-specific telemetry exams required if applicable (not typically for MRI Techs)
- Medication and competency exams as applicable by profession
- Pass/fail testing for EKG/medication may be required depending on unit assignment
Documentation & Onboarding
- Photo for badge must meet facility specifications (passport-style, solid background, no headwear except religious/medical)
- Completion of facility-specific communicable disease form within 90 days of start
- Signed acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing if applicable
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
- Two clinical references from the last 3 years required by agency standard
