Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital (Travel/Contract)
Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience. This is a travel/contract position in an acute care hospital setting focusing on therapy and rehabilitation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification
- Experience in Orthopedics
- Proficient with Dynamic and Static splints
- Experience in Amputee care
- Experience with Other Progressive Neurological Disorders
Schedule & Work Details
- Preferred shift: 4x10 hour days, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Weekend work: Every other weekend
- No on-call duties
- Floating within facility/outpatient scope as needed
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
- Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 10 hours for a 10-week assignment)
- Must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
Health & Safety Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (PPD, QGold, or TSpot accepted)
- TB Questionnaire updated annually, required regardless of TB test result
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Mumps (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or signed declination required annually during flu season
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, THC, and others)
Additional Requirements
- Background check completed within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (required by agency, not client)
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Work history verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- Two clinical references required
Notes
- Unit accepts first-time travelers; prior travel experience is not required
- Major holidays during assignment require work commitment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Floating may include outpatient facility work within scope of practice
This position offers a structured schedule with no call responsibilities and requires full compliance with health, safety, and credentialing standards prior to start.
