Registered Nurse (LTC/SNF)

Location: Garrison, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts (7pm–7am), approximately 36 hours per week
Facility Type: Long Term Care (26 beds)

Job Description

• Serve as charge nurse, pass medications, and perform wound care
• No clinical involvement beyond LTC nursing duties
• Patient population includes individuals with heart disease, diabetes, and dementia
• No IVs or titratable drips involved
• No telemetry monitors or requirement to read strips
• No attendance required at team conferences for acute inpatient rehab
• Physician available by phone on-call after hours
• Interdisciplinary team includes PT as needed and social worker designee; no rehab beds or respiratory therapist on site
• Oxygen therapy limited to concentrators and portable concentrators
• Pharmacy is off-site with medication dispensing system
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: every other major holiday
• No call, standby, or floating requirements
• Dress code: clean and presentable, no specific scrub color required
• Unit/department-specific orientation: 2-3 shifts

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Dakota
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) nursing
• Experience in charge nurse roles

Additional Information

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:10 on day shift, 1:19 on night shift
• No supervisors on unit; reports to Director of Nursing (DON)
• Radius rule: candidates must live within 50 miles and may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any related facilities within the specified health system
• Return to office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals after submission

This position is ideal for an experienced LTC nurse comfortable working nights in a small long-term care setting with stable patient acuity and no IV or telemetry responsibilities.
