Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Job Description

• Provide general Medical-Surgical nursing care with charge nurse responsibilities.
• Float as needed.
• Minimal to no Return to Origin (RTO) required (must be included on submission).
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Soarian.
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided).
• Start date is approximately 3 weeks from offer.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience in charge nurse roles.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Two recent supervisor/manager level references (Charge RN references accepted but not preferred). References must be verified within 12 months of start.
• Proof of education (diploma or transcript accepted).
• NURSYS primary source verification required for RN license.
• Background check: 7-year criminal history check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including SSN trace, counties, national sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, nationwide check, and education verification.
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted). For past positive TB, chest X-ray within 2 years and TB questionnaire within 30 days of start required.
• Immunizations or titers required: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines each; declination form acceptable if negative/equivocal).
• Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required.
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (September 3 – March 31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is provided. Exemption requires completion of agency and facility exemption forms and facility approval. Mask must be worn if exemption approved. Deadline for flu shot or exemption submission is November 21.
• Fit test for masks completed onsite at no cost.
• Facility-specific health and safety training modules must be completed prior to first day.
• Photo for badge: Must be submitted within 24 hours of signing, passport-style, shoulders up, plain background, no selfies, JPEG format.
• Facility-specific forms (e.g., IS115, IS119) must be completed and signed (wet ink or DocuSign).
• Business Associate Agreement may be required if requested.

Additional Notes

• Candidates with an address within 50 miles of the assignment location will be considered but may have adjusted pay rates.
• Qualivis submission form and skills checklist must be included with application.
• All required documents must be uploaded and current, including annual updates for background checks, competencies, and certifications.
• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service.

This position offers a 13-week travel contract with night shifts on a Medical-Surgical unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years recent MedSurg RN experience and current Georgia RN licensure. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. Compliance with extensive background, health, and facility-specific documentation is required for onboarding and continued assignment.
