Staff Nurse Specialty Care – Night Shift

Location: Johnson City, New York
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Serve as primary or accountable nurse as assigned.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely using pharmacology knowledge.
• Manage resources effectively including staffing, time, and supplies.
• Participate in nursing governance, improvement initiatives, and peer review.
• Engage in professional development and mandatory education.
• Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practice.
• Support learning for new employees and students.
• Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.
• Participate in Clinical Ladder Program as expertise develops.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• CVICU experience within the last year
• 6 months of CVICU experience
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• Experience with intensive cardiac patients, including CHF, COPD, end stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, and GI bleeds
• Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, and normothermia
• Experience with stroke patients receiving thrombectomy/TNK
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory settings.
• Certifications such as PALS, TNCC, and CCRN.

Shift Details

• Night shift, 12-hour shifts.
• 36 hours per week, working 12-hour nights, every 3rd weekend.

No prior travel experience is required for this position.
