Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Oncology Floor)

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Day shift, 3x12 hours preferred (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM); 4x12 shifts may be considered
Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW)

Job Description

• Work on an Oncology MedSurg floor
• Patient ratio typically 1:6 or 1:7; experience with higher ratios required
• Block scheduling considered
• Minimal to no Return to Office (RTO) time; must be included on submission
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems used: Cerner & Soarian
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I-9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (color copy required)
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Education verification (diploma or transcript accepted)
• Primary source verification of RN license (NURSYS verification required)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted); if past positive, chest x-ray within 2 years and TB questionnaire within 30 days required
• Immunizations or proof of immunity (titer or vaccination) for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
• Annual flu vaccination required during flu season (9/3 – 3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is provided
• Fit test completed onsite at no cost
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing required
• Facility-specific HealthStream training modules must be completed prior to start date
• Photo for badge required within 24 hours of signing (passport-style, shoulders up, no selfies)
• Various facility-specific forms (e.g., IS115, IS119) must be completed and signed with wet ink or DocuSign

References & Evaluations

• Two recent supervisor/manager-level references verified within 12 months of start (Charge RN references accepted but not preferred)
• Performance evaluations required if candidate has worked with the agency for over 1 year
• Skills checklist and internal evaluations must be updated annually as applicable

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 30 miles of the facility will not be considered; local rate applies for candidates 31-50 miles away
• Fingerprinting requirements apply only to CNAs, not RNs
• Candidates must be willing to complete fingerprinting appointments in Georgia if not already residing in the state
• Strict dress code adherence required (review only, no submission)

This position is ideal for RNs with MedSurg and Oncology experience seeking a travel assignment with a structured 13-week contract on a day shift with block scheduling and a patient ratio of up to 1:7.
