Description

Respiratory Therapist - North Dakota (Dickinson)

Contract Details

  • Length: 13 weeks
  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts, rotating days (7a-7p) and nights (7p-7a)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Yes
  • Call or standby call: No
  • Orientation: 1 to 2 weeks depending on experience

Job Description

  • Patient Population: All age ranges (neonates, pediatrics, adults)
  • Work Areas: Emergency Room, inpatient units, some outpatient
  • Duties: Perform arterial blood gases (ABGs), EKGs, and all respiratory therapy duties
  • Equipment Used: PB980 ventilators, Hamilton C1 ventilators, V60 BiPAP
  • EMR System: Meditech
  • Independent Practice: Must be able to work independently; may be the only respiratory therapist in-house at times
  • Intubation: Not required to intubate independently, only assist
  • Supervision: No respiratory manager/supervisor/lead therapist on each shift; hospitalist or intensivist available 24/7

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: North Dakota Respiratory Therapy License required at time of submission
  • Certifications:
    • Required: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (RRT preferred), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
  • Prior travel experience: Not required

Additional Information

  • Fit Testing: Clinicians with facial hair must pass fit testing (3M Aura 1860 or 1870+). Failure to pass fit testing or inability to remove facial hair will result in contract cancellation.
  • Dress Code: Black scrubs preferred but any color is acceptable
  • Scheduling: No self-scheduling or block scheduling allowed
  • Radius Rule: Candidates cannot be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN within 50 miles at any affiliated facilities
  • Return to Office (RTO): Required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approved during contract
