Description

Registered Nurse (STICU) - Night Shift

Location

Albany, Georgia

Contract Length

17 weeks

Unit Details

20-bed unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1; 1:1 ratio common for higher acuity patients
Patient population includes neuro patients with brain drains, ortho trauma requiring traction, cardiovascular devices (balloon pumps, Impellas, Ekos), post-op open-heart CABG patients, and open abdomens often re-opened at bedside
Unit will include an ECMO program starting soon
Also cares for renal patients requiring bedside CRRT management by RNs
Medical ICU patients may be admitted when other units are full

Shift & Hours

Night shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
12-hour shifts
Every other weekend required
Approximately 48 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license
ACLS certification
BLS (AHA) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience in ICU or STICU settings, preferably in level 1-2 trauma centers
Specialized training or experience with cardiovascular devices and CRRT preferred
