Physical Therapist Job Opportunity – Texas, Bryan
Position Details
- Job Title: Physical Therapist
- Location: Bryan, Texas
- Setting: Inpatient acute care
- Shift: Days (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Patient Load Expectation:
- 1 completed evaluation per hour
- If providing daily treatments, expect 10 completed treatments in an 8-hour shift
- Typical Patient Types:
- Level III trauma center cases
- Telemetry, orthopedic, surgical, critical care, neurological, oncology, and general medical patients
- Mostly adults and older teens
- EMR System: Meditech
- Team Support: Rehab aides, PT assistants (approx. 5 PTAs and 2-3 techs)
- Weekend Requirement:
- 2 full weekends per month (with compensatory days during the week)
- Possible 3 weekends in a 5-week month
- Holiday Coverage: Alternating holidays
- Uniform: Maroon scrubs
- Orientation: 3-5 days floor-specific orientation covering hospital protocols, EMR, and procedures (duration depends on acute care experience)
- Primary Coverage Area: Bryan acute care hospital, with minimal possible coverage at nearby College Station acute care hospital
- Call Requirement: None
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Physical Therapist license for Texas
- Certifications: BLS Certification required
- Experience:
- No explicit years of experience stated; however, orientation length varies based on acute care experience
- Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any related facility within the past year (PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable)
- Additional Requirements:
- Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may lead to termination
- May be asked to precept new staff as needed
