Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts (Saturday & Sunday) within an 8-week schedule
Patient Age Groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift Pattern: 3 days per week, 12-hour day shifts
• Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions
• Local Candidates: Considered if within 75 miles

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • Must be completed within 90 days of start
  • Includes SSN trace, county searches for past 7 years, alias, nationwide, sex offender, international (if applicable), education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list (within 30 days)
• Education Verification: Must have graduated from an accredited Respiratory Care program
• Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start (latex allergy acceptable)
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no exemptions)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual renewals not required)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Must have required vaccines or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination documentation required
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; low/equivocal titers require boosters
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine: Required for flu season (Oct 9 – Apr 1), no exemptions allowed
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• References: Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months; at least one must be a supervisor
• Employment Application: Required with 7 years of work history
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Guest Account Setup: Must set up a facility-specific guest account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
• Competency Exam: Unit-specific competency exam required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card: May be required; training provided onsite if not held
• Badge Photo: Not applicable for this role (only for Sterile Processing Techs)

• No on-call duties are required for this position.
