Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Nights)

Job Description

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop and update plan of care in collaboration with patients.
• Provide and direct nursing care; evaluate patient outcomes.
• Use technology appropriately, adhering to safety and infection prevention standards.
• Follow evidence-based tools, policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Educate patients and family members; document education and care provided.
• Report actual or potential occurrences per facility procedures.
• Engage in self-assessment, peer review, mandatory education, and competency assessments.
• Participate in unit-based performance improvement activities and staff meetings; support change initiatives.
• Practice in accordance with the legal definition of nursing in Michigan, including delegation and supervision provisions.
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and verified at profile upload; no more than 5 days of RTO allowed.
• Block scheduling is not permitted.
• Facility will not consider candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of current Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Active Michigan RN license (must be uploaded with profile).
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (must be uploaded with profile).
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification (must be uploaded with profile).
• Must have own vehicle for assignment.
• Provide work history and skills checklist relevant to Medical-Surgical nursing (current within 1 year).
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment.
• All scheduling requests, including any requested time off, must be submitted at the time of application; no scheduling changes will be approved after offer or at interview.
