Description

Registered Nurse - ER (North Carolina, Greensboro)

Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6 weeks
  • Holidays: As needed
  • Call: No call required

Job Description

  • Work in the Emergency Department (ED)
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • Previous Charge RN and Level 2 Trauma experience preferred
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs regardless of specialty

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all ER RNs)
  • Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia Testing (must pass with minimum 82%)

Preferred Certifications

  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • EPIC system experience required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Onboarding Requirements

  • Background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, including aliases and national searches
  • Education verification with primary source validation; foreign equivalency evaluation if education was obtained outside the U.S.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations required: Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine (or approved medical/religious exemption)
  • Fit mask test (N95) completed within the current calendar year and updated annually
  • TB testing (Qgold/TSPOT) within 6 months of start, plus TB questionnaire updated annually
  • Physical exam (if applicable)
  • Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not for this role)
  • Completion of facility-specific forms including Health History and Contractor Equipment Acknowledgement
  • Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing)

References and Work History

  • Two supervisory references required for clinical positions:
    • One from an assignment within 12 months prior to start
    • One from an assignment within 24 months prior to start
  • Employment application/resume with 7 years of work history
  • Verification of all employment within the last 5 years through a third-party vendor

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must be aware of and agree to the job description and submission process
  • Compliance documents must be completed by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date
  • No call shifts required
  • Candidate must acknowledge and complete all required pass/fail testing and onboarding tasks before starting
