Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical
Location: Dubuque, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical unit.
- Assignment includes Extended Telemetry (ETW) and Extended Observation Hours (EOH).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Fit Test required.
- Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen completed within 30 days of start (includes testing for multiple substances; no THC allowed).
- COVID-19 vaccination proof required, including booster by September 2025, or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- Proof of MMR vaccination (2 doses) or immunity via IgG titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series must be initiated prior to start.
- Influenza vaccine is optional but recommended.
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test required; positive TB requires chest x-ray per regional guidelines.
- Varicella vaccination proof or immunity required.
- Current physical/health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year).
- Current Tdap vaccine or declination if no pediatric interaction.
Professional and Compliance Requirements
- Completion of a comprehensive profile including resume, skills checklist (within one year), and two professional references.
- Criminal background check covering federal, nationwide, and county records from the last 7 years, including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma.
- Verification against exclusion lists (EPLS, OIG, NSO) dated within 30 days of start.
- Signed forms including:
- Code of Conduct
- Confidentiality and Information Security Agreement
- Integrity and Audit Services Form
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure
- Non-Employee Upload Form
- System Access Form (completed and uploaded one week before start)
- Completion of Joint Commission CORE exam within the past year.
- Iowa-specific: Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training and Iowa Sing Report (criminal history and abuse registries check) required within 30 days prior to start.
- OFAC sanctions screening completed within 30 days of start.
Additional Notes
- Specialty skills checklist will be provided by the agency for clinical contractors.
- All required documentation and verifications must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to onboarding.
This position is suitable for experienced RNs seeking a 13-week Medical/Surgical assignment with evening/night shifts in Iowa.
