Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40

Job Description

• Position involves Radiology/Cardiology specialty.
• Travel/contract assignment with a 26-week duration.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technologist license in Ohio.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist.
• Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
• Experience as an X-Ray Technician.

Compliance and Background Checks

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried during assignment.
• Background check required prior to start, including:

  • FCRA-compliant 7-year search (SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification).
  • No pending or active criminal cases; no multiple misdemeanor convictions within 7 years involving drug abuse, theft, assault, or sexual acts; no felony convictions within 7 years.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing and updated annually.

  • X-Ray Techs can start with agency fingerprint results pending as long as fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
  • Fingerprints must be completed under code 4723.09 (Nursing).
  • Facility will conduct their own fingerprinting on-site as well.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
• Fit mask test (3M 1860 small/regular or 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually (not required for Histology Techs, Pathology Assistants, or Medical Technologists).
• Immunizations/vaccinations required with official documentation:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no religious exemptions; medical exemptions require doctor’s note).
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold/T-Spot) within 6 months of start; chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test.
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal.
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination documented.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster required if negative or equivocal.
• Annual 10-panel drug screen required (instant drug screens not accepted).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31); declinations not accepted.

Training and Competency

• Completion of unit-specific competency exam within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Completion of facility-specific online onboarding and training modules prior to start:

  • Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome.
  • Training videos must be watched fully before testing.
  • Modules typically take multiple days and must be completed before clearance to start.
  • Badge pickup required after module completion prior to start.

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Badge photo required for clearance prior to start (photo of front and back of badge).
• Badge pickup occurs on the first day for X-Ray Techs and MRI Techs.
• Travelers with breaks in employment longer than 6 months may need to repeat orientation modules.
