Registered Nurse (ICU) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Job Details
- Specialty: RN ICU
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Unit Experience: Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) and Neuro ICU experience preferred but not required
- Float Requirements:
- May float to Neuro ICU, Burn ICU, Med/Surg, or Intermediate Care (IMC) units within skill set
- May float onsite or to other sites within 40 miles as needed
- Electronic Health Record: EPIC system used
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum of 2 years ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Onboarding and Compliance
- Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists with minimum passing scores (80%)
- Successful completion of EPIC test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics
- Health and immunization requirements:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines, immunity evidence, or history; no declinations accepted)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes, chest X-ray if positive, annual TB questionnaire
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
- Drug screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Background checks and verifications:
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG, National Sex Offender, EPLS within 90 days prior to start
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
- Professional references: at least two required
- Identification: Valid driver’s license or state ID matching address on file
Additional Notes
- Must be able to handle patient assignments within skill set and float as needed
- Some optional onboarding documents may be requested by unit leadership after start
- All certifications and verifications must be current and maintained throughout assignment duration
This position is suitable for ICU RNs comfortable with varied critical care environments and flexible floating assignments within a 40-mile radius.
