Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) – Nights
Location: Dubuque, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Emergency Department
- Bed Size: 16
- Patient Ratio: 3:1
- Shift: Nights
- Orientation Dates: July 13, July 20
- Workweek: 36-40 hours/week (overtime billable after 40 hours)
- Holiday Requirement: Must work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
- Scrubs: Grey, solids
- EMR System: EPIC
- Overtime/Holiday Pay: 1.15x multiplier
- Call Back Pay: 1.5x multiplier with 2-hour minimum
- On Call Pay: $9/hr
- Charge/Precept Pay: $6/hr
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency) certification
- Experience with drip/titrate medications including cardiac drips, insulin, heparin, and all types of critical care/emergency medicine drips
- Valid driver’s license
Additional Information
- No local candidates within 90 miles of the facility will be considered
- First-time travelers are welcomed
- Employee separation policy restricts past employees of the health system from working travel contracts in other markets within 12 months, with some exceptions
- Quick screening process includes phone call/text from a 405 area code
This position requires strong emergency nursing skills, critical care drip management, and telemetry experience, with a commitment to holiday shifts and night work.
