Registered Nurse – PCU (Georgia, Cartersville)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Unit Details
- Weekend schedule: Every other weekend
- No call required
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- If major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work them (up to two holidays if three fall within assignment)
- Full compliance with onboarding and credentialing required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
- Non-billable orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (agency requirement)
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months or chest x-ray if previously positive; TB questionnaire required annually
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC)
- Background check completed within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal history; must be fully cleared before start
- Two clinical references required by agency
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Manager review of candidate profile within 48 hours after offer confirmation to ensure fit
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Candidate must review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
