Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Indiana
Job Summary
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced, 29-bed Emergency Department.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with emergent and non-emergent medical conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and triage.
- Manage emergency nursing interventions for critically ill and injured patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely.
- Monitor patient condition and respond to clinical changes.
- Assist with emergency procedures, trauma resuscitations, and cardiac emergencies.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement and departmental education activities.
- Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection prevention guidelines.
Work Environment
- 29-bed Emergency Department.
- Fast-paced, high-acuity clinical setting requiring rapid decision-making and multitasking.
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
Contract Length
- Approximately 13 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience.
- Emergency Department experience within the last year.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Completion of non-violent crisis intervention (CPI) training.
