Unit Information

• ER Beds: 24
• Trauma Bays: 3
• Patients per Day: 80-90
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Fast Track: Yes
• Separate Triage Area: Yes (travelers occasionally perform triage)
• ER Holds: No separate holding area; holds are intermixed and managed by ER RNs
• Psych/Seclusion Rooms: None
• In-house Security: Yes
• X-Ray/CT: Located next to ER
• Phlebotomy: Performed by tech or RN
• Respiratory Therapy: RT completes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, ABGs, breathing treatments, and EGS
• Telemetry: No monitor techs; RNs must interpret ECG rhythms

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Cardiac conditions

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing

Orientation & Dress Code

• Unit-specific orientation provided (7 AM - 7 PM, every other week)
• Dress Code: Navy scrub color
