Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide pre, intra, and post cardiac procedure care for:
- Left and right heart catheterizations
- Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), both primary and elective
- Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
- Lithotripsy
- Atherectomy
- Pericardiocentesis
- Temporary pacemakers
- Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
- Cardioversion (CV)
- Dobutamine stress echocardiograms
- Conscious sedation administration
- Cardiac rhythm management (CRM) device implants
- Electrophysiology (EP) studies and ablations
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Shift
- 08:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Submission of current professional resume/profile and at least two professional references prior to assignment
- Verification of current nursing license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Valid, unexpired driver’s license or state ID matching address requirements
- Completion of required health screenings and immunizations including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (optional; if declined, mask required during flu season)
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with required follow-up and annual questionnaire
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start
- Completion of a statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Completion of a 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Completion of required competency exams and checklists including:
- Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score
- EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Skills checklist for specialty, updated annually
- Completion of onboarding education attestations and pre-hire modules specific to the role
- Submission of a forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background, no alterations
- Background checks including criminal history, social security trace, and exclusion lists within 90 days prior to start and updated annually or after breaks in service
- Employment and education verifications completed within 90 days prior to start and updated annually or after breaks in service
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation required
