Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse
Location: Geneva, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in Emergency Room care for a 13-week long-term assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- PALS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS certification
Health and Safety Requirements
- Immunizations and Titers:
- MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster schedule.
- Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster schedule.
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers within 15 years. No childhood vaccines accepted.
- Tdap: Vaccination within last 10 years (adult vaccinations only, no declinations accepted).
- Tuberculosis Testing:
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results within last 6 months. If positive, clear chest X-ray (valid for 5 years) and current TB questionnaire required.
- Fit Test: Completed within 1 year prior to start and updated annually (specific approved respirators listed).
- Physical Exam: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start date confirming ability to work without restrictions.
- Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start. Instant drug screens not accepted. If positive, Medical Review Officer (MRO) report required. New screen required if break in assignment exceeds 60 days.
- Influenza Vaccine: Proof required during flu season (October–March). Declinations require mask-wearing and completion of specific forms. Medical exemptions require physician documentation. (Optional outside flu season)
Background and Verification
- Criminal Background Check: Within 6 months of start, including Social Security trace, county searches for last 7 years, national criminal sweep, and sex offender registry. International background check required if not U.S. resident for past 5 years.
- Fingerprints: Ohio BCI&I check and FBI fingerprint check required depending on length of Ohio residency. Attestation allowed if fingerprints pending, with documentation.
- Employment Verification: Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party.
- Education Verification: Highest level of education verified through third-party. International education requires equivalency documentation.
- OIG, SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Checks: Must be completed within 6 months prior to start.
- I-9 Attestation: Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
- Photo ID: Non-expired driver’s license or state ID required.
- Badge Photo: Headshot with plain background required prior to start.
Competency and Skills
- Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (one-time requirement).
- Competency Exam: Department-specific exam with minimum 80% score, completed within 1 year prior to start.
- Core Competencies: Must complete HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics with minimum 80% score within 1 year prior to start.
- Safety and Compliance Training: Completion of required safety modules prior to clearance; renewal annually.

Additional Notes
- COVID-19 vaccine proof or approved medical/religious exemption is preferred but not required.
- Annual negative PPD or TB questionnaire is optional if 2-step PPD not done within past year.
This position requires a dedicated ER Registered Nurse prepared to meet comprehensive credentialing, health, and compliance standards for a 13-week assignment in Ohio.
