Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a multi-area Emergency Department including Main ED (11 beds), ED Fast Track (6 beds), and ED Observation Unit (7 beds).
• Regular rotation through all ED areas is expected.
• Assignments may include Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening.
• Daily area assignments with possible intra-shift rotations based on patient volume and unit needs.
• May assist with Covid testing and immunization clinics as needed.
• Occasional floating to other qualified departments, performing patient care or task-oriented duties (e.g., answering call lights, phones).

Schedule

• Primarily 12-hour night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM), typically 7 days on, 7 days off.
• Weekly hours alternate between approximately 36 and 48 hours.
• Flexibility required to work other shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Shift assignments may change during the contract to accommodate staffing needs.
• Maximum of one week Return to Office (RTO) allowed if needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification

Additional Information

• Facility relies heavily on contractors; flexibility and adaptability are essential.
• May be required to cover day shifts occasionally.
