Physical Therapist (PT) - Wichita, Kansas
Job Details
- Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation
- Patient Focus: Primarily neurological conditions including stroke, brain injury, multi-trauma, post spine surgery
- Typical Caseload: 4-6 patients per day
- Billing Expectation: 24 units per day
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday with rotating weekends
- Shift Hours: 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Kansas
- Minimum of 2 years of Physical Therapist experience
- Physical Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Clinical and Documentation Requirements
- Experience with electronic medical records, specifically Cerner/Onechart
- Ability to perform evaluations and treatments for neurological rehab patients
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Professional credentials including:
- Resume/Profile
- At least two professional references
- Criminal background check (including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry)
- Employment verification for the past seven years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation
- Health and Immunization requirements:
- Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Documented proof of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be completed onsite)
- 2-step PPD or IGRA testing for tuberculosis with annual updates; if positive, chest X-ray required
- Health statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Identification:
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must not be expired and address must match records)
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), mask wearing is required
- Skills checklist for specialty to be completed within one year of start and updated annually
- Background and employment verifications must be updated annually or if break in service exceeds 90 days
