Occupational Therapist (OT) - Home Health (Days)
Location: Fort Dodge, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide professional and clinical occupational therapy services as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Patient population primarily requires short-term therapy following hospitalization or nursing home stays.
- Average 4-6 patients per day.
- Coverage area includes a 50-mile radius around Fort Dodge, averaging 200-250 miles driven per week.
- Weekly virtual team meetings; monthly in-person meetings.
- Orientation includes general organization overview, online courses, 2 days of EMR (Epic) training, and ride-along/shadow visits.
- Support available from a therapy manager during the first weeks to assist with documentation and questions.
- Typically fully productive by week 3.
Schedule & Hours
- Day shift, 8 hours per day.
- 36-40 hours per week; billable OT hours begin after 40 hours.
- 48 hours per week; billable OT hours begin after 48 hours.
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Iowa
- Minimum 2 years of occupational therapy experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Own vehicle for patient visits
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic EMR system.
- Home health experience (not required; training provided).
- First-time travelers accepted.
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs every Monday.
- Compensation includes multipliers for holidays, call back, and charge/precept hours (details not included here).
- On-call pay available.
