Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU 4E, 4th Floor East Wing
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
Hours per Day: 12
Hours per Week: 48
Unit Overview
- Level of Care: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Number of Beds: 55
- Patient Population: Adults primarily; pediatric patients 15 years and older are rare
- RN-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 (both day and night shifts)
- Nursing Assistant Support: Yes
- Charge Nurse: Yes
- Additional Unit Support: Educator, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy
- Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke (CVA, TIA), shortness of breath, COVID-19, subdural hematoma, weakness
- Common Drips/Medications: PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, insulin
- Specialty Equipment: Mechanical lifts available in every other room
- EMR System: EPIC
- IV Pumps: Alaris
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Additional Competencies: Telemetry skills required
- License: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Experience: (Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience for PCU)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Driver’s License: Required at time of application to verify distance compliance (must live within 50 miles radius)
- Nail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply will result in contract termination
