Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Unit & Schedule Details

• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) not accepted for this unit.
• Weekend schedule: Every other weekend.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed.
• Unit accepts first-time travelers.
• Maximum Return to Office (RTO) turnaround time: 7 days.
• Holiday work expectations:

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler must work it.
  • If 2 major holidays fall, traveler must work both.
  • If 3 major holidays fall, traveler must work 2 of them.
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
• Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks).

Required Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience.
• Minimum 1 year of NICU respiratory therapy experience within the last year.
• Experience as a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; if positive, negative chest x-ray within 6 months required.
• TB questionnaire required annually regardless of TB test result.
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
  • Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
  • Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer.
• Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination required.
• Flu vaccination or declination required annually during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31).

Additional Notes

• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers.
• Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; non-compliance may delay start by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling.
• Orientation hours are non-billable and vary by contract length.
• Candidates must be prepared to work assigned holidays as outlined.
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
