Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in an inpatient acute care rehabilitation setting with patients having conditions such as CVA (stroke), TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility.
- Float required between all campuses as needed.
- Patient ratio approximately 1:6.
- Responsibilities include:
- Interpretation of laboratory results
- Medication reconciliation
- Patient health history and allergy assessments
- Vital signs monitoring (BP, respirations, temperature, pulse)
- Dressing changes and aseptic/sterile procedure setup
- Specimen collection and labeling (capillary, throat, urine clean catch, phlebotomy)
- Telephone triage and pharmacy calls/patient refill requests
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Certifications (as applicable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
- Pass/fail EKG competency exam
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Other certifications (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification) may be required depending on unit
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.
- Must complete compliance documentation by the deadline (12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start).
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement.
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing pose).
- Completion of health history form and upload prior to clearance.
- Workday login and onboarding tasks must be completed prior to start, including multi-factor authentication setup.
Work Environment
- Night shift in a specialized inpatient rehab unit.
- Float between campuses as needed.
- Patient care involves neurological and post-surgical rehabilitation patients.
This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with acute care rehab background who are comfortable with night shifts, floating, and working in a fast-paced inpatient rehab environment.
