Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/ICU/IMC
Location: Minocqua, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Details
- Unit Type: Medical-Surgical (MS), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Intermediate Care (IMC)
- Number of Beds: 20
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- MS: 1:5 (days), 1:6 (nights)
- IMC: 1:4
- ICU: 1:2
- Pediatrics: 1:3-4
- Patient Population: Primarily elderly with a variety of cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, skin, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, orthopedic, sepsis, and pediatric stable patients
- Common Diagnoses Include: CHF exacerbation, Afib RVR, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure post-op, stroke, cellulitis, GI bleed, kidney stones, hip fractures, sepsis, and pediatric respiratory illnesses
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license for Wisconsin
- Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
- ICU experience required; Pediatric ICU experience preferred
- Ability to titrate drips including heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, PCA fentanyl, propofol, norepinephrine
- Must be able to read cardiac rhythm strips (telemetry monitored remotely)
Work Environment & Equipment
- Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BIPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U ventilators, Hamilton ventilators
- Respiratory Therapists available 24/7
- Telemetry monitored remotely by techs; RNs must interpret strips if needed
- Charge nurses take patient assignments
- CNAs support with ratios approximately 1:8-10
- Scrub colors: Navy for RNs, Ceil Blue for CNAs
Scheduling & Requirements
- 12-hour night shifts: 1900 - 0730
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: Every other holiday
- Call/Standby: Yes, on rotation during low census; rare cancellations
- Floating: Required in-house to ED, Urgent Care, PACU; interfacility float to nearby locations
- Orientation: 1 day computer-based and hospital orientation; 1-2 days on-shift orientation

- Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
- Previous employment with this healthcare system requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
