Sonographer Position – Prescott Valley, Arizona

Job Details

• Specialty: Ultrasonography (General, OB/GYN, Vascular preferred)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Evenings
• Hours per Week: 36
• Work Schedule:

  • Dayshift with evening hours
  • Weekend shifts required occasionally
  • Holiday shifts rotate
  • Call or standby required (one day a week and one weekend a month)
• Average Scans per Day: 8-16
• Department Equipment: Phillips EPIQ ultrasound machines
• Number of Scanners/Rooms: 3
• Imaging/Studies Performed:

  • General ultrasound exams
  • OB/GYN exams (RDMS-OB/GYN certification required)
  • Vascular exams (vascular experience preferred)
  • Paracentesis and thoracentesis biopsies (Pare Thora BX)
• Electronic Systems: Cerner EMR and PACS
• Orientation: Department-specific, totaling 36 hours over Sunday to Wednesday evening shifts

Required Qualifications

• Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS Certification
• RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification required
• RDMS-OB/GYN certification required

Additional Information

• No requirement to start IVs
• No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA) support
• Radiologist available in-house
• Scrubs are not provided
• May be asked to float or cover other areas occasionally, but not standard practice
