Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in a very large, busy Emergency Department (Non-Trauma) with high acuity patients.
• Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics.
• Unit has 59 beds, averaging 165-175 patients per day.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4.
• Shift: Evening, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1:00 PM to 1:00 AM).
• Electronic medical record system: Epic (required).
• Medication dispensing system: Pyxis.
• Scrub color: Navy Blue.
• Floating is rare but may be required within facility and scope of practice.
• Weekend work: Every other weekend.
• Holiday work: If one major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if two, expected to work both; if three, expected to work two.
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
• Return-to-Office (RTO) maximum: 7 days.
• RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th-12th).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least 1 year of ED experience within the last year.
• Minimum of 2 years or more of total travel nursing experience.
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience working with Epic electronic medical record system.
