Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer - Travel/Contract
Location: Mooresville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Description
- Perform echocardiography procedures using GE equipment
- Community hospital experience required
- Weekend requirement: every third weekend
- On-call requirement: every other week, Monday through Sunday coverage
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cardiac Sonographer license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
- Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support, AHA only) certification
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID
- Social Security Card (only if used for I9 verification)
- Background checks within 90 days including:
- SSN Trace, County, Alias, Nationwide, Sex Offender, International (if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification from accredited sonography program
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years, no exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccination or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (boosters required if low/equivocal)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Polio vaccine or signed attestation
- Two professional references from employment within last 12 months (one must be a supervisor)
- Employment application with 7 years of work history
- Annual skills checklist and competency exam required
- Facility-specific onboarding including online modules and orientation attendance
- Must set up a facility guest account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems
Additional Notes
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
- Candidate must confirm guest account setup before clearance
- Competency and pass/fail testing (EKG/medication knowledge) administered at orientation
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card training provided onsite if needed
- Candidates must complete required competency checklists within 3 weeks after start date
- Candidates with less than 30-day gap between previous assignments may have some document requirements waived or accepted on file
This position is ideal for experienced Echo Sonographers with community hospital background and ARDMS certification, seeking a travel contract in North Carolina with a structured orientation and compliance process.
