Respiratory Therapist Travel Opportunity

Location: Santa Maria, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), approximately 36 hours per week
• Unit: Respiratory
• Patient Population: Adults, pediatrics, and neonates (no NICU unless experienced)
• Typical Duties:

  • EKGs
  • ABGs
  • Breathing treatments
  • Ventilator management (Puritan Bennett 840)
  • High flow nasal cannula
  • Chest vests
  • Vapotherm
  • Bronchoscopy proficiency required
• Orientation: Up to 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: Rotated with core staff
• Call: Not required
• Additional Support:

  • Respiratory Therapist coverage 24/7
  • Hospitalist or Intensivist in-house
  • Pharmacy available 24/7
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
• Equipment: Telemetry monitoring via Phillips system
• Scrub Color: Black

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required (CRT also accepted)
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Prior travel experience preferred but not mandatory

Notes

• Candidates must be proficient with bronchoscopy procedures.
• This is a travel contract position in a hospital setting with a focus on respiratory care across multiple patient age groups.
